HANSCOM AFB, Mass.–Hanscom Federal Credit Union presented a $1,000 check to Littleton Community Farm during the recent grand opening celebration of its Littleton, Mass. branch. Christopher Grallert, president of the board of Directors for Littleton Community Farm, accepted the check on behalf of the organization.
Dozens of credit union employees, as well as local dignitaries and residents, attended the grand opening celebration, which was highlighted with good food and conversation.
Littleton Community Farm is a gathering place dedicated to fostering an appreciation of and connection among land, food, neighbors, and community. The organization promotes awareness of the importance of farms, their relationships to land and community, and access to locally grown food.
“Supporting an organization like Littleton Community Farm is a natural fit for our credit union, whose motto is ‘People Helping People,’” said Paul Marotta, Hanscom FCU’s Chairman of the Board. “Littleton has a strong community spirit, and we’re happy we’ve been welcomed into their fold, so to speak. We want to show our appreciation by contributing to a group that also embraces the ‘People Helping People’ ethos.”
