HARTFORD, Conn.–During a city council meeting here, Marco Signorello, CEO of Hartford Municipal Employees FCU (HMEFCU) was presented with an official citation by Mayor Luke Bronin and Councilwoman Glendowlyn Thames. Signorello has dedicated his career to providing exceptional services to the employees of the City of Hartford, Hartford Housing Authority, Community Renewal Team and a number of other local entities. His continued contributions to the Hartford community exemplify outstanding citizenship in the City of Hartford.
This comes after Signorello was recently recognized by the Credit Union League of Connecticut as the Outstanding Credit Union Professional of the Year.
Marco joined the credit union in 1999 as CEO. At the time the credit union had 1,900 members and $6 million in assets. Today, the credit union has nearly 8,500 members and $54m under assets. “Through Marco’s leadership the credit union has helped many residents in the Hartford area to purchase cars, consolidate debt, borrow unsecured money, all of which helped members work through many desperate situations,” the credit union said. “Often-times it was clear no other financial institution would take the chance and, HMFECU was there. Most importantly, Marco has taken the time to listen to members, hear their stories and work to establish trust and a relationship. Helping members understand the importance of developing good credit and understanding why or why not certain financial products or decisions make sense for the member’s financial situation and their individual needs. Marco brings passion and love to his work. He continually is looking for ways to grow the credit union, reinvest in members and make a difference in the community.”
