NORTH GRAFTON, Mass.–Homefield Credit Union has donated $5,000 to Community Harvest Project as part of a year-long sponsorship.
The Community Harvest Project has proven to be an essential farm effort to aid individuals and families in need in Worcester County, providing them with healthy, farm-grown fruits and vegetables that help provide healthier lifestyles, the credit union said.
“And the Project does so in a unique way – literally thousands of community volunteers come together each year to grow, harvest and distribute the produce, making the effort both extremely efficient and a testament to the true sense of community,” the credit union said.
“We are so proud to continue our participation in the Project,” said Karl J. Mosian, president & CEO. “Not only in terms of the funds donated, but also in the active involvement of a number of our employees who volunteer their time and hard work to the farm. We participate on all levels in one of the most important and beneficial local community projects.”
In 2017, the Community Harvest Project donated 271,509 pounds of food and at the same time, educated almost 1,600 students through their educational component.
