Horizon CU Celebrates $1B in Assets

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash.–Horizon Credit Union has reached one-billion dollars in assets and revealed a celebration surprise to employees at the annual employee appreciation barbecue.

The employee appreciation barbecue at Horizon is typically a festive celebration,  but the excitement was elevated a little higher this year, the credit union said. On the day of the barbecue, Horizon employees arrived to find a surprise at their desk - a “billion dollar box.”

“Inside was an invitation to celebrate the billion dollar milestone with a first ever company-wide Go. Give. Grow. community service day,” Horizon CU said. “Each box also included an Amazon Fire Cube and a shirt to sport for the Go. Give. Grow.event.”

The HZCU Go-Givers will take their spirit of celebration out into the community by volunteering at 13 locations across Washington, Idaho and Montana on Wednesday, Sept. 19. All branches will close at noon for Go. Give. Grow. so employees can embark on the company-wide volunteer excursion.
HZCU Go-Givers will be giving back by prepping food backpacks for kids who need extra food to take home, helping out at food banks and more. Volunteer activities will center around alleviating hunger in local communities, the credit unions said.
