Horizon CU Staff Create, Paint Mural

SPOKANE, Wash. – The creative team at Horizon Credit Union created a unique mural for the kids and parents of Spokane HOPE, an organization that helps deaf and hard-of-hearing kids learn to listen and speak.

Founded in 2004, Spokane HOPE believes all children who are deaf or hard of hearing have the right to reach their full potential, pursue their dreams, and thrive in school, their community and in life.

The creative team came up with a space theme to show kids that they can shoot for the stars and reach their dreams. The mural was hand-painted in one day by Jessica Walker, graphic designer; Makayla Sotin, graphic designer; Kyle Cossairt, graphic designer II and Steven Langford, senior graphic designer / creative lead with painting assists by Sammy Rich, copywriter and Jessica Leonard, social media supervisor.

“This was a special opportunity for our creative team to give back in a unique way that helps beautify the center, the local community and gave them a chance to really show off their exceptional talents. We have amazingly talented artists on our team,” said Kimberly La Liberte, visual communications manager.

The mural is mounted outside the Spokane HOPE Center at 1821 E Sprague Ave in Spokane.

In addition to the mural, Horizon Go-Givers (volunteers) were on site all week cleaning, painting and more to help with the renovation.
