Illinois CUs Support Ukraine Relief

NAPERVILLE, Ill.–Credit unions across Illinois have provided generous support in excess of $110,000 for a variety of humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine.

Donations to the Illinois Credit Union (ICU) Foundation’s Ukraine Fund including $25,000 in matching funds from Envisant will go to the Selfreliance Foundation Ukraine Relief Fund.

“The ICU Foundation is proud to be part of the efforts to provide humanitarian support to people in Ukraine,” said Melanie Murphy, ICU Foundation executive director.

The organizations said concern for community, the seventh cooperative principle of the credit union movement, was at work in the raising of these funds as credit unions came together locally in support of the needs of the people of Ukraine.  The ICU Foundation said it recognizes the credit union principles as the guiding force behind the good work of the movement.
