LOWELL, Mass. – Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union surprised members of the Greater Lowell Boys & Girls Club by conducting a random act of kindness last week during which the youths were able to select a free ice cream treat from Sweet Pete’s Ice Cream truck.
According to the credit union, the youths were thrilled with the unexpected snack which arrived after they had participated in a financial education session with members of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s financial education team. During last Thursday’s session, more than 100 children learned math, cash-handling, communication, and team-building skills. The financial education team created a mini-carnival with games that helped students work on their ability to collaborate, to increase their self-confidence, and show commitment to their respective teams. The youths then enjoyed a cool snack during a particularly hot summer day.
“We were happy to be able to provide a fun surprise for the children, especially after they worked so hard on their math skills during a beautiful summer day,” said Mark S. Cochran, President and Chief Executive Officer of Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union.
Separately, Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union announced the promotion of long-time employee Emily Farnham to Assistant Vice President-Payments.
“Emily goes above and beyond in her daily efforts at Jeanne D’Arc,” Cochran said. “She is a knowledgeable and dedicated financial-services manager with proven experience in the financial payments environment.”
Farnham, of Lowell, has 11 years of experience in the financial-services industry. She holds an Advanced Financial Services diploma from the Center of Financial Training and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree at New England College of Business and Finance.
