MIAMI LAKES, Fla.– JetStream Federal Credit Union celebrated its Juntos Avanzamos (Together We Advance) designation along with the grand opening of its new Doral Branch.
JetStream Federal is the first credit union in Florida to receive this honor. The Juntos Avanzamos designation is awarded to credit unions that are committed to serving the Hispanic community by providing education and services that improve financial well-being.
“We are dedicated to our members’ prosperity and truly committed to identifying and serving the needs of our diverse, multi-ethnic community” said JetStream President and CEO Jeanne Kucey, “Seventy-five percent of our members reside in low-income zip codes and they need our help. All of our JetStream team members are Community Development Certified Financial Counselors. We are one of the very few credit unions nationwide that have achieved this full-staff certification. We’re confident that our financial literacy education efforts will lead to increased member loyalty and community goodwill.” Recently JetStream Federal introduced the Small Business Micro Loan which offers businesses up to $50,000 for equipment financing, working capital or even to expand their location.
“From both our member requests and researching our market, we identified the need for a program to assist small businesses owners in their growth with an emphasis on a personal touch and common sense approach to making loan decisions. We are looking to make relationships not loans. We are also developing an easy documentation personal loan to help members in our market fulfill their American dream and obtain citizenship” said Guy Petroro, SVP- Chief Lending Officer.

Mark Rodriguez from Allied Solutions served as Master of Ceremonies for the event which featured guest speakers, member testimonials, gourmet food, entertainment, and door prizes. More than 100 people were in attendance including representatives from the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions along with numerous community and business leaders. The Mayor of Doral, Juan Carlos Bermudez, officiated the ribbon cutting along with the JetStream team.
