MIAMI LAKES, Fla.– JetStream Federal Credit Union once again partnered with CFT (Center for Financial Training) and Miami Dade College for their On-the-Job training program.
This program allows highly motivated students a real learning opportunity in their field of study. The students apply what they have learned in class to a job setting and further develop their knowledge and skills. Each student is required to work 160 hours during the semester, the credit union said.
JFCU’s intern this year was Fabienne Pierre, who is a Business Administration student at Miami Dade College’s School of Business. Fabienne was able to participate and observe various JetStream Federal departments including, branches, accounting, compliance, and care center to learn what it’s like to work in a financial institution.
“My first day at the branch I was extremely nervous,” said Pierre. “However, the team was very nice and humble, eager to show and teach me what I needed to do. I have learned more in these past two months than I had anticipated and I am grateful for this amazing opportunity.”
