BREMERTON, Wash.—Kitsap Credit Union has named Eleni Willis vice president of risk management, tasking her with overseeing the credit union’s compliance program and enterprise-wide risk management efforts.
In the role, Willis will oversee regulatory compliance, fraud and loss prevention, dispute processing, vendor management and business continuity initiatives, while advising leadership on emerging compliance and risk mitigation issues. Jason Elliott, SVP and chief financial officer, said Willis’ experience will help strengthen the credit union’s risk framework as the risk environment facing financial institutions continues to evolve.
Willis brings more than 20 years of experience in enterprise risk management, regulatory strategy and governance across financial institutions and regulatory agencies. Prior to joining Kitsap Credit Union, she held senior enterprise risk leadership positions in banking, including chief risk officer and deputy chief risk officer roles.
She began her career with the Washington State Department of Financial Institutions as a bank examiner overseeing safety and soundness examinations of financial institutions throughout the Pacific Northwest. Kitsap CU said her background combines regulatory insight with operational and business leadership experience.
