LOS ANGELES –– For the seventh consecutive year, Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) has been named one of Los Angeles Business Journal’s “Best Places to Work in Los Angeles.”
In partnership with Best Companies Group, the publication annually identifies the top 100 companies in Los Angeles and assesses each on their strengths and how they impact employees’ well-being. Out of the 100, LAFCU was one of 38 winners in the medium-sized company category representing 50 to 249 employees. According to the people who work for them, the companies selected are the most successful in business and in nurturing their own.
LAFCU employees were surveyed on a range of topics and indicated that they liked the outstanding benefits program; the annual company picnic and holiday party; catered holiday breakfasts; quarterly food trucks to celebrate goal achievements; and a mini-gym on site to help them stay healthy. Employees also credited LAFCU for its highly positive culture where they felt their hard work was rewarded through employee recognition and often bi-annual bonus payments.

Separately, Los Angeles Federal Credit Union (LAFCU) hosted a special grand opening and ribbon-cutting in honor of its new Cerritos Express Branch. Board members, executive staff, credit union members, and the public were all in attendance along with many local dignitaries who presented certificates and plaques. Cerritos Mayor ProTem George May presented a certificate stating “We know you have several cities to choose from and we are glad that you came to Cerritos.” Proclamations were also presented from the offices of U.S.Congresswoman Linda Sanchez; Assemblywoman Cristina Garcia; Senator Tony Mendoza; LA County Supervisor Don Knabe, a former Cerritos Mayor; Cerritos City Council; and the Cerritos Regional Chamber of Commerce. After the presentations, guests and members toured the branch, enjoyed delicious refreshments from branch neighbor Panera Bread, and picked up a free commemorative mug.
The credit union’s eighth location, the Cerritos Express branch is one block east of the South Street exit from the 605 freeway at 11306 South Street in the Landmark Square Shopping Center. This exciting high-tech, yet high-touch branch processes transactions faster and more efficiently. Instead of teller lines, staff handles all financial transactions like a one-stop shop. A private room is also available for meetings with branch representatives and advisors from LAFCU’s car buying, insurance and investment programs.
