LBS Financial Employees Volunteer at Rescue Mission

LONG BEACH, Calif.–Nine LBS Financial Credit Union employees volunteered at the Long Beach Rescue Mission to serve a warm lunch for those in need and assist the staff in preparing for their Easter service.

As part of their commitment to give back to the community, LBS Financial regularly participates in community outreach events including beach cleanups, assisting at children’s hospitals, and stuffing back packs for students in need. Helping the Long Beach Rescue Mission is becoming a tradition after initially volunteering there in 2015 as part of their Summer Acts of Kindness, a community outreach program developed to celebrate the credit union’s 80 years in the community, the credit union said.

Volunteers were welcomed at the Long Beach Rescue Mission and escorted to the kitchen and food locker to prepare food. Volunteers prepared fresh fruit and set up the dining room for incoming guests. Hot soup and food was served to those in need at the Rescue Mission.

LBS Financial Credit Union said supports employee involvement within the community through their program, LBS CARES. In the first quarter of 2017, volunteers registered 230 hours of community work. Upcoming events include being course monitors for ABC Unified School District’s Into the Summer Fun Run in June and cleaning 12 acres of beach in July.
