LONG BEACH, Calif.-- LBS Financial Credit Union delivered thousands of school supplies to three local schools in Long Beach, Bellflower, and Hawaiian Gardens as part of their annual Adopt a School Program.
LBS Financial adopts a different school in ABC Unified School District, Bellflower Unified School District, and Long Beach Unified School District every year and works with the principals to receive a wish list of items needed for students and classrooms.
This year the credit union adopted Fedde Academy in ABC Unified School District, Washington Elementary in Bellflower Unified School District, and Garfield Elementary in Long Beach Unified School District.
LBS Financial purchased thousands of dollars of items on each school’s wish list and also held a school supply drive at local branches so its members could also participate and contribute. In September, the CU delivered items like art supplies, books, classroom games, crayons, markers, notebooks, toys, student incentives, social-emotional wellness items and more. The delivery for Garfield included chain link fence signage in the form of Put-In-Cups, spelling out “Tigers,” their school mascot.
This is LBS Financial’s 13th year of adopting local schools within the Bellflower, ABC, and Long Beach Unified School Districts.
