LBS Financial Supports WomenShelter of Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif.-- LBS Financial Credit Union employees donated hundreds of toys, gifts and clothing to the women and children assisted by WomenShelter of Long Beach at The Grand in Long Beach during their annual holiday breakfast.

Every year, LBS Financial hosts an employee holiday breakfast at an offsite location. The employee holiday breakfast committee selected WomenShelter of Long Beach for this year’s employee gift donation hoping to make a positive difference in the lives of these women and children during the holidays. In previous years, LBS Financial employees donated toys and gifts to the United States Marines’ Toys for Tots Foundation, Miller Children’s Hospital, Comprehensive Child Development, Long Beach Day Nursery, Children Today, Project Shepherd, the Needy Family Project in Cerritos and Young Horizons.

Approximately 175 LBS Financial employees attended this year’s breakfast and many brought more than one gift.

“WomenShelter of Long Beach assists the community in protecting those in harm’s way,” said Jeffrey Napper, president and CEO of LBS Financial Credit Union. “During the holiday season, it is important to not forget those who leave everything behind to have a safer life for themselves and their children. We hope our contribution helps these brave women and children have a sense of normalcy during the holidays.”

“Thanks to LBS Financial for supporting our almost 100 families this holiday season. All of the items that they collected and so generously donated helped make this holiday season special, bright, and merry. Their kindness reminds our survivors that their community supports them, especially during their times of need,” said Tatiana Dorman, Associate Director of Development & Community Relations for WomenShelter of Long Beach, “WSLB feels so fortunate to have such wonderful and compassionate supporters like LBS Financial Credit Union. It is evident that they all care deeply about helping one another and others. They are helping make our community safer, happier and better.”
