MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The League of Southeastern Credit Unions and its Alabama Advocacy Policy Committee have named voted to nominate Senator Chris Elliott (R-32) as the 2022 State Lawmaker of the Year.
“I am thrilled to be named the 2022 State Lawmaker of the Year in Alabama by LSCU,” said Senator Elliott. “I have been a supporter of credit unions for years and often take the time to speak with Alabamians to discuss issues facing these financial institutions. In my elected Senate position, I am prepared to stand up for credit unions and ensure that proper legislation is executed.”
Sen. Elliott formerly served as the Chairman of the Baldwin County Commission and the Chairman of the Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization, as well as on various national, statewide, and countywide boards and committees. In these roles, Senator Elliott was able to make a tremendous impact for the constituents of Alabama.
“Senator Elliott has been a strong advocate for credit unions since day one of joining the state legislature and we are grateful for his steadfast leadership,” said Patrick La Pine, CEO of LSCU & Affiliates. “He has championed credit union legislation in the past, and we look forward to our continued work together to ensure financial well-being for all Alabamians.”
