OSCODA, Mich.--Northland Area Federal Credit Union has announced the appointment of Jimmy Luthmann as the newest member of its board of directors.
“We’re so pleased to include Jimmy as part of our leadership,” said board chairman Mike Palumbo; “He is a well-respected member of the credit union community who brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to the table.”
Luthmann’s credentials include 22 years of service in the United States Air Force. A former crew chief, flight mechanic and First Sergeant, he completed tours in Europe and Asia before retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant from the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base.
In the private sector, Luthmann’s credit union membership led to a new career path in marketing and community relations; including positions with Northland, (known as Wurtsmith Community FCU at that time), and the Michigan Credit Union League.
“I believe very strongly in the the credit union movement,” said Luthmann; “the credit union business model is good for its members and good for the community. I’m honored to be a small part of it.”
Before retiring, Luthmann was actively involved in the MCUL’s Blue Ox Chapter, promoting credit unions throughout northeast Michigan. He also served on the board of directors for the Oscoda-AuSable Chamber of Commerce for many years.
