MCU Presents $25,000 Donation to 'Answer the Call'

NEW YORK CITY -- As part of its continued efforts to support First Responders throughout New York City and New York State, Municipal Credit Union (MCU) presented Answer the Call, the New York Police and Fire Widow’s and Childrens’ Fund, with a donation of $25,000 during the fourth annual New York Jets First Responders Game at MetLife Stadium.

The donation was presented on the field prior to the New York Jets game against the Buffalo Bills and will help support Answer the Call in its mission to provide financial assistance and a network of support to families of New York City Police Officers, Firefighters, Port Authority Police, and EMS Personnel who have been killed in the line of duty.

“We are honored to support Answer the Call and thankful for their efforts in supporting the Finest and Bravest families in our city,” said MCU Board Chair James Durrah, who presented MCU’s donation along with President/CEO Kam Wong.  “New York City’s First Responders are the everyday heroes that keep the city  safe each and every day.  The families of these brave men and women who make the ultimate sacrifice in serving our city deserve our full support and appreciation, and thanks to organizations like Answer the Call, we are able to do our part in helping to honor the legacies of their loved ones.”

The contribution is part of the MCU's corporate commitment to giving back to New York City’s civil service community.  MCU’s sponsorship of the New York Jets’ annual First Responders Game is part of its official partnership with the Jets.
