COLUMBIA, Md.–The Maryland and DC Credit Union Association has presented several honors.
The Miriam Lieb Emerging Leader Award was presented by the MD|DC Credit Union Association to Michael Ches, branch manager at Baltimore County Employees Federal Credit Union.
The award honors the legacy of Miriam Rivera Lieb, who was a credit union advocate and leader, by recognizing a credit union professional, 40 or under, who demonstrates leadership and shares Lieb’s dedication to the core principles of the movement.
The other finalists in this year’s competition were:
- Nicole Galloway, Educational Systems Federal Credit Union
- Kristin Kauffman, Cedar Point Federal Credit Union
- Audra Pettus, Johns Hopkins Federal Credit Union
“Congratulations to all the finalists,” said John Bratsakis, president and CEO, MD|DC Credit Union Association. “They each delivered thought-provoking presentations and unique insight on how credit unions can innovate. All the candidates exemplify the qualities that are needed for future credit union leadership.
Ches will receive a professional development package, sponsored by TruStage, that includes:
- Executive coaching sessions
- Airfare and accommodations to visit CUNA and TruStage headquarters in Madison, Wis.
- Lunch with their CEO and MD|DC Credit Union Association President/CEO John Bratsakis
The runners-up each receive executive coaching sessions.
Trailblazer Award
Separately, PAHO/WHO Federal Credit Union (PAHO/WHO FCU) has won the Maryland & DC Credit Union Association Marketing Trailblazer Award in the Best Digital Marketing category for Bienestar Financial Advisors, its new investment advisory and financial planning service through LPL Financial, LLC.
The MDDCCUA Marketing Trailblazer Awards recognize outstanding marketing and communications achievements in a variety of categories by credit union asset size.
“We are honored by the Maryland & DC Credit Union Association’s recognition of the work our marketing and digital teams have done to visually represent our expansion into investment advisory and financial planning services with Bienestar Financial Advisors,” said Miguel Boluda, Jr., CEO of PAHO/WHO FCU. “We believe in helping members of the global health community live better, healthier financial lives and Bienestar Financial Advisors allows us to further that mission.”
Submissions were evaluated by a panel of judges based on visual appeal, content, creativity and measurable results.
