DETROIT — MSU Federal Credit Union President and CEO April Clobes was honored as one of 10 recipients of the 2023 Crain’s Detroit Business Newsmakers of the Year during a luncheon ceremony at the MGM Grand Detroit.
Individuals are selected for their influence on moving the metro Detroit region and state forward during the year. According to the publication, Clobes was chosen “because of her leadership and vision behind the growth of MSUFCU but also in the credit union market in general.”
“I was honored to be recognized as a 2023 Crain’s Detroit Business Newsmaker of the Year with a group of dedicated leaders,” Clobes said. “Despite a challenging economic year, MSU Federal Credit Union continued to invest in what is important, our people and technology. Our dedication to serving our membership and communities led to many opportunities throughout last year.
“Some of our most exciting 2023 initiatives included an announcement to expand in the Chicagoland area by opening five branch locations, acquiring two community banks in the Chicago suburbs, and our entry into the Detroit market through our Congress Street branch,” Clobes continued. “Our success would not be possible without the support of our volunteer Board of Directors, members, and employees.”
