ATKINSON, N.H.–Merrimack Valley Credit Union (MVCU) hosted its annual Charity Golf Classic at the Atkinson Resort & Country Club, with the tournament, sponsored by Synergent, raising nearly $40,000 to support the credit union’s financial education programs for members and the community.
MVCU said its Financial Edge, a program developed in partnership with Banzai!—a financial training organization that works with credit unions throughout the nation—funds financial education courses in schools throughout the region and offers community organizations in-person training and digital tools to enhance the knowledge and money management skills of students and adults.
“Thank you so much to all of the golfers who joined us for a beautiful day on Atkinson’s wonderful course,” said MVCU President & CEO John Howard. “And thank you to all of our sponsors who helped us raise money for our financial literacy program, Financial Edge. Your support gives community members of all ages the knowledge, skills and confidence to overcome the financial obstacles they will encounter throughout their lives.”
Golfers not only enjoyed beautiful weather, but a Happy Gilmore-themed tournament with on-course contests including a golf ball air cannon, a dart board golf game and putting with MVCU’s Howard. The tournament also featured raffle prizes, a silent auction, breakfast, lunch, dinner and beverages.
