MANCHESTER, Conn. – Manchester Municipal Federal Credit Union recently contributed to a local coat drive organized by the Professional Firefighters of Manchester (Local 1579). More than 250 winter coats were donated to the International Association of Firefighters’ (IAFF) Operation Warm program.
Operation Warm was founded to counter one of the most unfathomable hardships of childhood poverty; the lack of adequate winter clothing. By necessity, families struggling to survive prioritize food, heat, and rent above winter clothing resulting in frequent absenteeism from school.
