COS COB, Conn.–Vanessa Kuduk, loan officer at Members CU and certified Zumba instructor, organized a Zumba Event to raise funds for Ecuadorian credit union members who have suffered losses from the recent earthquake. The event raised $1,540. All of the proceeds were donated to the World Council of Credit Unions to directly benefit credit union staff and members in Ecuador.
With the support of Members Credit Union and the Credit Union League of Connecticut, who helped to promote the event, and many of her coworkers who volunteered their Saturday afternoon, Vanessa made it happen, the credit union said. Vanessa was able to gather 22 Zumba instructors who were happy to work with her to choreograph an amazing two-hour Zumba event, which was kicked off with a traditional Ecuadorian folk dance in costume.
About 100 people attended. A number were Ecuadorian and gave thanks for the support of their family members. All had an energizing afternoon getting fit while helping others.
