FARMERS BRANCH, Texas — Metro Medical Credit Union has named Sherman Roberson as its new vice president. Credit Union Resources assisted with the executive search for the $72-million dollar credit union.
Roberson received a Bachelor of Science in business/resource economics from the University of Maryland – College Park, Md. Roberson completed the certified executive program in marketing at CUNA. He also attended Southwest CUNA Management School at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.
Roberson is very active in the community and serves on several committees and boards, including the Small Credit Union Committee, Creeks of Windmill Hill Homeowners Association, Inc., and The Neighborhood Advisory Board of Cedar Hill.
Roberson brings more than 20 years of management experience in the financial services industry. His dynamic approach to management and leading successful teams will help Metro Medical continue its mission to provide, secure, friendly, professional, and competitive financial services to its members.
Previously the president/CEO at Oak Cliff Christian Federal Credit Union in Dallas, Texas, Roberson was responsible for all aspects of its start-up, from management and accounting, to loans and auditing. He grew the credit union to more than 1,500 members and over $4 million in assets.
Prior to Oak Cliff Christian, Roberson was the vice president member service at Trustus Federal Credit Union in Midlothian, Texas, where he was responsible for member concerns regarding all aspects of the credit union. Under his leadership, he increased checking production by 30 percent and membership by 10%.
