Midland Empire Chapter Supports Dog Park

BILLINGS, Mont.—The Midland Empire Chapter of Credit Unions has donated $10,000 to Partners for Parks to help fund the foundation’s latest installation of shade shelters at the Centennial Dog Park.

Each year, these Billings-area credit unions select a variety of local organizations and projects to support that are actively making the community a better place.

The donation will boost Partners for Parks in their mission to raise $110,000 to add valuable amenities such as these shade shelters, benches, and agility training equipment for dogs and their owners to utilize when visiting.

“This new park is quickly becoming a staple within our community,” said Brandon Scala, president of the Midland Chapter of Credit Unions. “As credit unions, we strive to give back and uplift our local communities, and supporting Partners for Parks in their mission to create a space for all to enjoy, was a wonderful way to fulfill our mission. We would encourage you, your families, and your furry companions to visit this park, make a donation, and keep a lookout for further developments to come.”

The Centennial Dog Park is a recently developed community attraction that opened to the public in June 2021, where dogs can exercise and play off-leash in a controlled environment under the supervision of their owners. Special amenities include park benches, drinking fountains, agility areas, corner-free fencing, and more. Partners for Parks and the Billings Parks and Recreation Department continue to fundraise to help cover expenses for the park’s new amenities.
