Montgomery County EFCU Supports Maryland Hispanic Achievement Scholarships

GERMANTOWN, Md.–Montgomery County Employees Federal Credit Union supported the Maryland Hispanic Achievement Scholarships, which were awarded at the Maryland Hispanic Gala. The gala was held at the Filmore in Silver Spring, Md. Local college student Julissa Murrieta, who is studying environmental biology at Maryland College Park, received the scholarship from MC EFCU.

Scholarships were presented to 55 worthy recipients at the gala this year. Scholarships are presented to recent Maryland graduates or GED recipients planning to attend a Maryland college or university in 2019 and are in financial need. The annual event brings together elected officials, the business community, philanthropists, and the Hispanic community to support and promote post-secondary education opportunities for eligible students in Montgomery County. MC EFCU is in its fifth year of supporting the scholarship program.

“At MC EFCU, we gladly support and invest in our community and we know there is no better investment we can make in our future than that of supporting young people who are advancing themselves and their education,” said CEO Jim Norris. “We are very pleased that this wonderful event celebrates educational excellence. This ensures that more students in our community will be able to pursue their college dreams. We are proud to support this important cause.”
