WESTBURY, N.Y.–Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union provided onsite paper shredding services at their Oceanside branch on Earth Day so that their members could shred sensitive documents using a shredding truck in the Oceanside branch parking lot. Nassau Financial sponsors this community event annually on the first weekend after Tax Day, a time when most people are focused on managing and filing their paperwork, the credit union said. The documents were shredded onsite while the members watched on a video monitor as their papers were lifted into the truck and shredded as they waited.
“Shred Day is one of our more popular events,” said John DeCelle, President & CEO of Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union. “Our members appreciate the convenience of shredding old paperwork in bulk on the shredding truck in just a few minutes as opposed to spending hours feeding small stacks of paper into a personal shredder at home,” he added. “We are pleased to provide this annual shredding event to our membership, and tying it to Earth Day further drives home our commitment to improving the environment through recycling.” said DeCelle.
