WESTBURY, N.Y.– Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union’s TEAM Hope participated in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk at Jones Beach, N.Y. in memory of an employee who lost her battle with cancer.
“We have all been impacted in some way by this horrible disease,” said John T. DeCelle, President and CEO of Nassau Financial Federal Credit Union. “I’m very proud of our employees for setting and exceeding their goal of raising $5,000 for the American Cancer Society. It proves that when everyone works together as a team they can accomplish so much more than working alone.”
Nassau Financial’s TEAM Hope had over 30 walkers including employees, relatives and friends. Behind the scenes the employees raised funds by selling shirts, selling stickers, and asking for donations. Nassau Financial also had a presence at the pink party by the band shell, contributing an additional $500 to the cause. As of today, TEAM Hope from Nassau Financial has raised $6,033 and will continue to raise funds through the end of October by holding a cooking fundraiser and selling stickers.
