SMITHFIELD, R.I. –– Navigant Credit Union earned top honors at Providence Business News’ 10th Annual Best Places to Work celebration, as it was named the best place to work in Rhode Island in the large company group.
The celebration, held at the Crowne Plaza Garden Pavilion, honored 55 local businesses for their exemplary commitment to quality-of-life standards for their employees. Selections were based on a report compiled by Best Companies Group, a national research firm that specializes in human resources policies.
Navigant Credit Union earned the #1 ranking in the large company group, consisting of any Rhode Island business with 150 to 499 employees.
“Our business was established 100 years ago on the foundation of treating our employees as family. Our family has grown exponentially, but our values remain unchanged," said Navigant Credit Union CEO and President Gary E. Furtado. "We have always been proud to consider ourselves as one of the best places to work in Rhode Island, and we are so grateful and humbled that Providence Business News made it official.”
Navigant Credit Union recently celebrated its 100th year of continuous operation in Rhode Island. In honor of that milestone, the Credit Union launched the "Next 100" campaign, which aims to improve the communities the Credit Union serves in 100 different ways.
The "Next 100" campaign will continue in July 18 with a 100-person torch-lighting ceremony at the iconic Providence Waterfire.
