Navy Fed's Huff Appointed to Virginia Credit Union League Board

RICHMOND, Va.-Michael Huff, vice president of government relations and public policy at Navy Federal Credit Union, has been appointed to the Virginia Credit Union League’s Board of Directors.

He will serve as an At-Large Director until the League Board’s 2024 elections.

“The League Board is pleased to welcome Michael, who has worked extensively within the broader financial services industry and in government,” said Virginia Credit Union League Board Vice Chairman Jeff Bentley, President/CEO of Herndon, Va.-based Northwest Federal Credit Union. “His experience as a government relations and public policy expert will serve the League well in our role as member credit unions’ best advocate, and as we strive to deliver resources and services that ensure credit unions’ success.”

Huff oversees the government relations and policy team, managing the development and implementation of Navy Federal’s enterprise-wide government relations and public policy program.

Prior to joining Navy Federal, Huff was Vice President of Government Relations for the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta, where he managed all aspects of the FHLBank’s state and federal advocacy. Previously, he stood up and directed Ginnie Mae's first Congressional affairs office, expanding the organization’s presence and influence on Capitol Hill.

Earlier in his career, he served in congressional affairs and communications roles for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Homeland Security, and the Federal Air Marshal Service. Huff began his federal service as a Federal Air Marshal after the 9/11 attacks, following decorated service in the United States Air Force.
