New England FCU Grants Funds to 4 Organizations

WILLISTON, Vt.— Four times each year, New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) selects four recipient organizations at random to receive $625 each, for a total of $10,000 annually. NEFCU’s community giving donations for the fourth quarter of 2017 included:

  • The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) fights to free individuals and the families who love them from the harmful effects of muscle-debilitating disease. MDA will apply the NEFCU donations toward the MDA Summer Camp for one child.
  • The King Street Center, a member agency of the United Way of Vermont, serves more than 500 children and families in the Burlington area, offering Preschool, Afterschool, Teen, and Mentoring programs. The funds received from NEFCU will be applied to support their annual campaign.
  • Common Roots Vermont is a nonprofit community organization connecting farmers, educators, youth, families, and the wider community in building a sustainable future through place-based education and service programs. The NEFCU donation will be applied toward their Farm to Go program, in which middle school students, working with chef educators, prepare entire meals to bring home (with recipes) to their families.
  • The Junior League of Champlain Valley is an organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the action and leadership of trained volunteers. The NEFCU donation will support the League’s fundraising effort to provide 15,000 diapers to lower income families.
