New Horizons Helps With New Horizons

MOBILE, Ala.–New Horizons Credit Union has awarded five deserving high school seniors with a $1,000 scholarship as part of the 2022 New Horizons Credit Union Scholarship Program, which awards scholarships based on academic achievement, community involvement and essay responses. 

New Horizons Credit Union’s Scholarship Program has been going strong for over 20 years awarding over $75,000 in scholarships. To qualify for consideration a student must be a graduating high school senior and have a New Horizons Credit Union New Wave Savings Account. 

Winning students are contacted individually and through their high school’s guidance office for recognition among their peers. Each awardee is also sent a New Horizons Credit Union Certificate of Achievement to add to their college portfolio.  The winners’ desired college will receive a check in the student’s name to be applied to their college costs. 

The following students are the 2022 New Horizons Credit Union Scholarship recipients:

Kaycee Carlander – Mary G. Montgomery High School

Haylee Jackson – Jackson High School

Kacey Porter – Daphne High School

Landon Rice – Satsuma High School

Payton Stacey – Saraland High School

“We believe in giving back in our community – especially through education,” said Edith Franklin, president/CEO of New Horizons Credit Union. “The many quality applications we received made the final decision very difficult, but five candidates did rise above the rest. All the students should feel very proud of their accomplishments, and we wish them success in their pursuits.”
