MOBILE, Ala.— New Horizons Credit Union presented a check for $1,000 to Jensen’s Heart of Gold Foundation, which raises awareness and support for families with children suffering from cancer, from employee fund raising efforts held during 2018. This check accounts for a total of $3,000 contributed to Jensen’s Heart of Golf during the year.
Giving back to the community is important for New Horizons Credit Union, the CU said. Since the beginning of 2018, New Horizons Credit Union employees have been raising funds for Jensen’s Heart of Gold primarily with special jeans days. This non-profit organization was chosen based on the results of an annual internal staff survey. Each year, New Horizons Credit Union employees select the Corporate Charities they want to see their Credit Union support. For 2018, Jensen’s Heart of Gold was selected as one of the Corporate Charities.
Jensen’s Heart of Gold is a non-profit organization that provides, “Awareness, advocacy, and hope for childhood cancer cure,” as explained by Melissa Byrd, President & Founder.
“New Horizons Credit Union is a proud supporter of Jensen’s Heart of Gold Foundation and all the good work they do to help families dealing with childhood cancer,” said New Horizons Credit Union Interim President/CEO Edith Franklin. “Our staff chose this non-profit to dedicate their fund raising this past year, and we are happy to play a role in its success.”
