DUBUQUE, Iowa – Newsweek has named Dupaco Community Credit Union a Top Regional Credit Union in the United States for 2024.
Dupaco noted it also just one of three credit unions in the state of Iowa given the publication’s five-star rating.
Newsweek conducted research with Plant-A Insight Group that sought to define both the financial strength of institutions as well as consumer confidence with credit unions and banks where people do business, the credit union explained.
“Starting with a list of more than 9,440 financial institutions and with data from over 35,000 customer interviews, the findings were narrowed and Newsweek named the best 500 regional institutions (250 banks, 250 credit unions) in the United States to the list,” Dupaco CU stated.
It further noted the research looked at areas such as overall financial health, profitability, exposure to risks and potential losses, lending and leasing activity and more. In addition, the study also collected more than 1.3 million social media reviews and 148 million Apple App and Google Play store reviews to support its scoring model.
“While we did not seek out this recognition, we are thrilled to begin 2024 with such a great accolade,” said President and CEO Joe Hearn. “The research by Newsweek was done independently and looked at thousands of data points to create this list.
