ALPENA, Mich.– Northland Area FCU has unveiled a vehicle wrap designed to honor and promote U.S. Veterans. Northland originated on Wurtsmith Air Force Base in 1957.
The credit union’s pickup truck which is used primarily for branch deliveries and support at credit union and Veteran events, has been wrapped with a design similar to those seen on the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk “Flying tiger” aircraft which served heavily in WWII. The graphic was designed in-house by Northland’s marketing department. Decal Freakz out of Gaylord printed and wrapped the graphics on the vehicle. The graphics on the truck showcase key elements of the credit union’s philosophy in conjunction with Veteran elements - designed to give honor to men and women who serve or have served in the United States armed forces.
“Our desire is for this design to continually remind the public and younger generations what our Veterans have sacrificed for this country” said Pete Dzuris, Northlands CEO and President.
There is even a graphic paying tribute to the last B-52 bomber to fly out of Wurtsmith AFB before its closure. The Old Crow Express nose art is replicated on the roof of the truck.
“This bomber flew 54 missions during the gulf war and is a hero among aircraft” said Dzuris.
Northland sells Old Crow Express T-shirts and hats at Veteran and other events with 100% profit going towards veteran organizations.
