HERNDON, Va. – Northwest Federal Credit Union has added a new organization to its Community Partners program – the League of Reston Artists (LRA). The LRA is a diverse group of artists and supporters of the arts living throughout the Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C., areas.
“We are always excited to welcome new Community Partners who share our commitment for giving back,” said Chris McDonald, President/CEO of Northwest Federal. “The League of Reston Artists is a good fit for our program as it enriches the community by offering ways to experience and appreciate a wide range of visual art.
Northwest Federal plans to host an art show this spring at the Herndon branch to help draw attention to the LRA and its work. Details are being finalized.
Northwest Federal’s mission is two-pronged: to help its members succeed financially and to support the communities it serves. The CU’s Community Partner program pushes that mission even further by supporting area groups that strengthen and improve life for local residents. It also enables LRA members to join the Credit Union, and benefit from the many products and services offered. Also, the LRA can apply for a Community Partner grant to request funding for projects that benefit the local community.
