SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — Numerica Credit Union is donating $40,000 to be distributed between four regional nonprofits, as chosen by the community.
Numerica invited community members to nominate their favorite local nonprofit to receive a $10,000 grant through the Gift Where You Live holiday giving campaign. In a surprise twist, Numerica said it will also will give $5,000 grants to the second place winner in each region, increasing the credit union’s Gift Where You Live donation total to $60,000.
With more than 5,000 total nominations, the two most-nominated nonprofits in Spokane, North Idaho, Wenatchee Valley and Tri-Cities received votes in a social media poll to choose a winner.
Spokane Quaranteam was named the winner in Spokane, followed by The ISAAC Foundation.
“We are honored that Gift Where You Live engaged the community in a big way to give back,” said Nicole Sherman, Numerica’s chief operating officer. “We were able to see firsthand the nonprofits people feel are making the biggest impact in our neighborhoods. It was inspiring to see people share their passion for local causes and work together to make such a meaningful difference.”
