Nuvision CU Clothing Drives Deliver Thousands of Items to Youth in California, Alaska

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.—Nuvision Credit Union said its annual NuvisionCares Helping Kids in Our Communities program has provided clothing, winter essentials and school supplies to hundreds of disadvantaged young people in California and Alaska. The month-long initiative, supported by members, community donors and the credit union, collected thousands of items.

“Our NuvisionCares Helping Kids in Our Communities program provides vital assistance to families and kids in the communities we serve,” said Roger Ballard, CEO of Nuvision. “Through the program, we’re honored to work with our community partners, supporting their missions to help those in need.”

In Alaska, the $3.9-billion-asset credit union partnered for a fifth year with Anchorage Cops for Community’s Clothesline Project, providing 2,000 reusable handwarmers, 500 disposable handwarmers, nearly 2,000 pairs of gloves and more than 500 beanies. In Southern California, Nuvision volunteers delivered hundreds of new clothing items to Robyne’s Nest, which assists at-risk and homeless students.

Nuvision also collected approximately $2,000 in infant essentials for White Pony Express in California’s Contra Costa County and donated $2,500 toward backpacks and school supplies for His Little Feet’s Back to School Fair in Long Beach. Nuvision, which operates 37 branches in five states, serves more than 200,000 members.
