VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.–– On St. Patrick’s Day, Chartway branches and offices across the country raised more than $28,000 for children battling life-threatening illnesses through its St. Patrick’s Day-themed Pot of Gold Coin Collection and Sip or Sizzle Vacation Raffle.
Chartway said its employees invited several children whose dreams have come true thanks to Chartway’s We Promise Foundation to stop by their decorated work spaces. They gave the young lads and lassies some special treats and tossed their nickels, dimes, and dollars into a special coin collection bin: a leprechaun’s hat.
The We Promise Foundation beneficiaries also helped the foundation pull the winning raffle ticket for its Sip or Sizzle raffle – an annual fundraiser that invites supporters to purchase tickets to win a vacation to the Caribbean or Northern California’s wine country.
Together, the Pot of Gold Coin Collection and Sip or Sizzle Vacation Raffle enabled the credit union’s foundation to raise more than $28,000 to support children in the communities it serves.
