PSCU's Possibility Makers Make It Possible In Collaboration With TOMS

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.–Thirteen members of PSCU’s Possibility Makers partnered in a charitable activity with TOMS. The Possibility Makers program is a unique opportunity for PSCU to partner with representatives from its member-owner credit unions to further educate and help develop change agents. The Possibility Maker participants, selected by their credit unions, work together to imagine and strategize for the future. They engage in in-person and virtual meetings, take part in deep-dive workshops with innovation partners like Filene, First Data, IBM, Visa and others, and continue the conversation online afterwards. They put theories from the workshop sessions into practice, serving as a catalyst for change and generating results. To date, 29 credit unions have participated in the Possibility Makers program, PSCU said.

At its January meeting in Miami, the PSCU Possibility Makers had the chance to collaborate with 25 consumers to come up with ideas around financial service needs in the industry. As part of that collaboration, 13 credit union representatives and members from PSCU’s staff partnered with TOMS to paint shoes that will be donated to a school in Guatemala called a Long Way Home, a non-profit whose mission is to use sustainable design and materials to construct self-sufficient schools that promote education, employment and environmental stewardship. In total, thanks to a matching donation from TOMS, 60 pairs of shoes will donated on behalf of PSCU.
