Pacific Service CU Outlines Recipients Of Charitable Contributions

CONCORD, Calif.–Pacific Service Credit Union has released its list of charitable contributions for 2015. With a focus on helping local organizations through its Community Involvement Committee, Pacific Service CU said it strives to assist various agencies that provide services for children, education, health & human services, and disaster relief.

Topping the list for charitable donations is the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, which Pacific Service CU has supported since 2004. This year the Food Bank received donations totaling $36,000 which included a $20,000 donation to the Food Banks holiday food drive, a $10,000 donation to their summer food program, and an additional $6,000 raised by Pacific Service Credit Union employees through various fundraising efforts.

Additional contributions were made in 2015 to several other organizations, including Valley Children’s Hospital, located in the city of Madera, the Children’s Miracle Network of Hospitals, SHELTER, Inc., a non-profit agency focused on preventing homelessness among low income residents of Contra Costa County, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the worlds largest voluntary health agency dedicated to finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood cancers. Other organizations that benefitted from the financial institutions charitable giving program include The Salvation Army, the Bay Area Deputy Sheriffs Foundation, and Anka Behavioral Health, which provides behavioral health services to some of the nations most vulnerable populations, including Veterans, through the organizations ties to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

In total, Pacific Service Credit Union allocates approximately $125,000 each year to 501(c)(3) organizations.
