Peach State FCU Honors Board Member, Educator With Scholarship

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Peach State FCU has created a $2,500 scholarship to honor Board Member and Supervisory Committee Chairperson, Rick Cost, for his contributions to the Gwinnett County school system.  Cost retired as the Chief Financial Officer at Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) in December 2015. The scholarship will be awarded to a GCPS graduating senior pursuing a degree in education.

Cost has volunteered with Peach State since 2006 when he served on the Supervisory Committee.  He became Chairman of the Supervisory Committee and joined the Board of Directors in 2012. Cost has more than 33 years of varied financial experience in both the public and private sectors. He was named the Georgia Association of School Business Officials Outstanding School Business Official in November 2015, his profession’s highest honor.
