Peach State FCU Hosts Girl Scouts For Financial Literacy Program

ABBEVILLE, S.C.—Peach State Federal Credit Union recently hosted a local Girl Scout troop at its Abbeville branch for a financial education session designed to help the scouts earn a financial literacy badge.

During the visit, the scouts toured the branch and learned about the differences between credit unions and banks, along with money-management basics such as budgeting, savings accounts and checking accounts. The program also introduced participants to common banking terminology and practical financial tips.

“As a credit union founded by educators, financial literacy has always been an important part of our mission,” Chief Risk Officer Kerri Donald said in a statement. “We were thrilled to host these Girl Scouts and help them build a stronger understanding around money so they can develop financial confidence at an early age.”

Peach State FCU said the event reflects its ongoing focus on community outreach and financial education initiatives aimed at helping younger consumers develop sound financial habits early in life.
