Peach State Helps Boys and Girls Club, Food Bank

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Peach State FCU donated $500 to the Boys and Girls Club of Jackson County following the Northeast Georgia Chapter of Credit Unions’ annual charity golf tournament.

The tournament earned more than $14,000 this year, benefitting 11 organizations throughout the Northeast Georgia area.

“Peach State strives to fully embody the credit union philosophy of ‘People Helping People’ and donations like these set an example for the youth of the communities that we serve. We want to help our current members and the members of the future,” said Laura Ryll, Peach State’s EVP/COO and Board Member for the Northeast Georgia Chapter of Credit Unions.

Separately, Peach State FCU donated food to the Greenforest Social Ministry Food Bank. The credit union collects non-perishable food items throughout the year and makes quarterly donations to food banks in their service area.

“Hunger doesn’t just happen during the holidays—that’s why we have chosen to collect food to be donated throughout the year. No one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from and it’s unfortunate that so many people in our community do,” said Marshall Boutwell, President/CEO for Peach State.

“Most people wouldn’t believe how difficult it is to keep food on our shelves, so donations like the one from Peach State help to meet the needs of our community / the people we serve,” said Deborah Segue, social worker for the Greenforest Social Ministry.
