PENSACOLA, Fla. –Pen Air Credit Union's Share It helped raise more than $8,400 in support of education within the Escambia County Public Schools Foundation (ECPSF) in Escambia County, Fla.
Through the Share It program, PenAir donates .01¢ for every signature-based debit card transaction made by participating members at no cost to the members.
“This initiative allows members to extend their support to teachers in Santa Rosa County, Baldwin County, Ala., or Escambia County, Fla.,” the credit union said. “In the 2023-2024 school year, PenAir's commitment to education shone brightly, amassing a total contribution of $22,054.71 across the three participating districts.”
"PenAir's Share It program is a tangible demonstration of our commitment to education,” said Casey Brueske, community education development specialist. “This program allows our members to partner with us and enhance students' lives in their local community by funding programs like the Grants for Excellence in Escambia County Schools. All you have to do is swipe your card."
The donation amount has been applied to ECPSF's Grants for Excellence program, fostering innovation and collaboration within schools. This year, the Foundation plans to award $100,000 in High Impact Grants, with the application platform set to open in the next two weeks and funds to be awarded around the first of October, the credit union said.
