PENSACOLA, Fla.–Pen Air Credit Union's Share It program has announced its members' donation of $8,302.66 to the Baldwin County Education Coalition (BCEC) for the 2023-2024 school year.
Through the Share It program, PenAir donates .01¢ for every signature-based debit card transaction made by participating members at no cost to the members. This initiative allows members to extend their support to teachers in Santa Rosa County, Baldwin County, Alabama, or Escambia County, Florida.
“All members have to do is sign up and swipe their PenAir debit cards when they shop. It really adds up,” said Casey Brueske, community education development specialist.
Funds raised by Share It® have previously provided Baldwin County public school teachers with essential resources, including professional development and classroom literacy materials to improve student achievement. This support extends to the Palm Project Initiative, a county-wide effort ensuring each school's Care Closet is stocked with essential items, reducing obstacles for students and allowing them to focus on their education, the credit union said.
The Share It program's total contribution for the 2023-2024 school year reached $22,054.71 across the three participating districts, providing invaluable resources.
