Police CUs in Collaboration

ROSEMONT, Ill.—Six executives from five member
credit unions of the Police
Officers’ Credit Union
Association (POCUA) attended
the first Collaboration Meeting
hosted by the alliance.
Representatives from Chicago
Patrolmen's FCU, Greater Hartford Police FCU, Police FCU of Omaha, Police FCU, and State Highway Patrol FCU attended.

“The meeting was highly valuable in that we truly found common ground for collaboration among Police Credit Unions,” stated Ken Bator, President of Bator Training & Consulting, which manages the POCUA. “True to our vision statement, we discussed ways of extending financial services to the law enforcement community throughout the United States. This included an initiative for a possible national brand campaign for credit unions serving law enforcement.”

Also discussed were implementing means to further knowledge sharing among POCUA members throughout the year and continuing initial progress of a possible loan participation effort among Police Credit Unions. A white paper has been created summarizing in greater detail the successful meeting on November 14th. This summary will be made available to POCUA members upon request.

Further details and progress will be discussed during future Collaboration Conference Calls as well as the Collaboration Session on May 6th in conjunction with the 12th Annual Police Officers' Credit Union Conference in St. Louis.
