Quantum CU Sponsors Kansas Honor Flight

WICHITA, Kan.–Quantum Credit Union presented a check for $2,501.11 to Kansas Honor Flight. Kansas Honor Flight takes veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to their service. When they return, they are greeted at the airport with a welcome home gathering of local military personnel as well as children from local schools.

As a way of giving back to the community it serves, Quantum Credit Union said it has created a program called “Quantum Cares.” Each month, Quantum collects donations to benefit a local non-profit.  During 2017, Quantum has pledged to match member contributions up to $1,000 per month.

“Our intent with the Quantum Cares initiative is to align ourselves with local non-profits that share our core values, and those that we can positively impact,” said Quantum Credit Union President Chuck Bullock. “And in an effort to salute the heritage members of our credit union, I just can’t think of a more deserving organization than Kansas Honor Flight.   What a special feeling, to think that our contribution could impact the lives of three Kansas veterans.  This is what Quantum Cares is all about.”

Kansas Honor Flight has sent 44 flights with 1,309 Kansas veterans to Washington, D.C. The cost to send a veteran is $700, and all costs for the veteran are covered by Kansas Honor Flight. Their goal in 2017 is to send 11 flights at a cost of approximately $280,000.00.
