RMJ Foundation/CU Direct Golf Tourney Raises $75K

DANA POINT, Calif.–The Richard Myles Johnson (RMJ) Foundation/CU Direct Golf Classic—held at the Monarch Beach Resort—raised more than $75,000 for the state foundation for credit unions in California and Nevada.

The event attracted 130 players and 48 sponsors. Ontario, Calif.-based CU Direct served as the title sponsor.

“This event helps us to fund the Foundation’s Bite of Reality, an interactive youth financial education program, which this year is expected to reach more than 18,000 young people in California and Nevada,” said RMJ Executive Director Tena Lozano. “Bite of Reality provides youth with a taste of real-work financial realities, helping them learn the basics of budgeting.”

The tournament’s winning group came from Wescom CU: James Kliegl, Dan Moore, Jon Allen, and Ron Fisher. The foursome of Jeremy Clark, Todd Pearson, Mike Randall, and Scott Stearns representing CUNA Mutual came in second. In third place were Chris Gunnare, John Nelson, Jay Hanses, and Brian Scott from PSCU.
