RTN Donates 50 Handmade Blankets

WALTHAM, Mass.— RTN Federal Credit Union has donated 50 handmade blankets and $250 towards the purchase of blankets, clothing and pajamas to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless’ A Bed for Every Child Program and its Gift of Warmth Drive, being held during February.

The blankets for infants and children were knitted by Blankets for Kids volunteers from the Amesbury Senior Community Center. These generous volunteers have made blankets for RTN to donate for the past several years.

“We are so glad to be able to help children in need stay warm this winter with blankets made by hand and with love by the wonderful Amesbury Senior Center volunteers. This is especially meaningful during the pandemic,” says Michael Menas, RTN Amesbury branch manager.

Community involvement is a core value of RTN as a credit union, the CU said, noting it supports local community projects and initiatives, and works collaboratively with members, sponsor groups, and surrounding communities through financial support and volunteer participation.
