WALTHAM, Mass.—The RTN Federal Credit Union Employees Community Outreach Committee sponsored and served dinner on June 30 for close to 50 men and women at the Bristol Lodge Soup Kitchen in Waltham. The Lodge is one the non-profit organizations and charities in local communities that the Committee supports annually through personal donations and contributions of their free time.
“We look forward to sponsoring dinner at Bristol Lodge a couple of times of year because we know the need that exists in our own backyard,” says RTN Assistant Regional Branch Manager Robin Hartnett and committee chair. “It is a privilege to serve the people and experience the appreciation they have for such a simple act of kindness.”
Bristol Lodge is a program of the Middlesex Human Services Agency, a long-time RTN employer group. The soup kitchen, located at Immanuel United Methodist Church on Moody Street, serves daily hot meals for local residents in need.
RTN is a full-service financial cooperative, owned by and operated for its members. Established in 1945, it is one of the 10 largest credit unions in Massachusetts, with more than $825 million in assets, 50,000 members and 19 community and workplace branches. Membership is open to employees and family members of more than 650 employer groups.
